Chapel Lodge, Padstow

Undertaken for Yeates Design + Architecture.

This disused Methodist church was stripped back to its 4 main walls before it was completely re-built to create a luxury 6 bedroom holiday home in the heart of Padstow. The exterior was largely re-designed based on original features to maintain the character of the conservation area. The interior is contemporary. Our clients asked that the living space be located in the huge roof space to take advantage of the spectacular views over Padstow to the estuary and countryside beyond. This allowed us to create a dramatic light filled staircase leading to the top floor.

Roger designed every aspect of this building from the bespoke kitchen, bathrooms and staircase to the windows and doors.

Chapel Lodge won a commendation from the Cornish Buildings Group Awards 2008.
