Clerkenwell

The conversion and extension of a former print works into 8 loft style apartments. Undertaken for Yeates Design + Architecture.

These apartments set around a private landscaped courtyard were purposefully designed to retain the rough urban nature of the area. All the apartments were designed for open plan living and incorporated either double height living spaces or barrel-vaulted roofs. The outside of the building is built hard to the boundary and forms a protective shell to the urban surrounds. The courtyard elevations have large areas of glazing to maximise the feeling of space and flood the interiors with light.
